I keep being seduced by all the gorgeous new beauty products that seem to be launching every second this spring. It seems that the likes of Chanel, Dior and Givenchy have all decided to take it upon themselves to cheer up the dreary, cold March that we are having, and sprinkle it with pastel-filled palettes, peachy blushers and rose-petal lipglosses; delicious! You may all be wondering how on earth this links to my interior design obsession, so here we go. ..
It started with this Givenchy palette; isn’t it gorgeous? All those sprinkles of pastel should feel over-sweet and sickly but instead it looks like it could be hanging on the wall of the Tate.
The colour captured me so much that I went in search of the ‘interior’ equivalent and chanced upon these equally spring-like fabrics from the wonderful Caitlin Wilson Design:
So that’s where it began, and ever since I have been scouring the beauty pages of my favourite magazines to find inspiration for some seriously sexy make-up palette-inspired interiors. Here are my top five…
.. led me to this paired-back moody room with a decadent, gold Rococo mirror illuminating the back wall.
…led me to this mainly neutral bedroom, which is bought to life by the swoosh of that gorgeous candy-striped curtain and the bold black print above the bed.
…helped me find this gem of a room, with it’s bold stripes, bold coral, and bold over-sized ornaments.
…but led me to this gorgeous living area with its ‘chocolatey’ leather ottoman and rich brown beams, alongside the fresh nude sofa which is injected with gold and toffee-coloured cushions; a serious ‘room recipe’ made in heaven!
Finally, these new-season Chanel lipsticks…
…led me to this fun little dining area with it’s candyfloss seating and giant blackboard wall:
