Project number 2

Hi all, am back again after a turbulent few weeks fulfilling a project brief for a loft apartment in Borough. Apologies for the poor quality of the photos but see below for some of my finished drawings. I will upload proper scans as soon as I can. Watch this space for a heap of inspirational posts over the next few weeks; I am on holiday from tomorrow and therefore back and ready to share a lot of inspirational ideas for your own space for your soul…

Here are just four of the photos I have taken in London over the last few months whilst out and about sourcing for my next design project. Each one has evoked a feeling in me, made me get out my camera and keep a memory of the moment. Enjoy!

The waterfall chandelier at Valerie Wade. Simple yet decadent, curvaceous yet powerful. Quite simply.. I love it.

Macaroon Rainbow

Strolling through Selfridges the other day these caught my eye (and not just because they are my favourite cakes!)… Look at these colours together, there’s something similtaneously calming and exciting about them – even the mint green ribbons add something to make the combination so special.

Lacrime del pescatore by Ingo Maurer is a sexy yet quirky lighting fixture that is so incredibly unique and original, yet subtle all at once. Check it out…

Good to be back

Hello all, and huge apologies for the delay. I have been knee deep in my first interior design project at KLC. Very bad I have been away so long (huge apologies), but VERY good that I have a huge amount of fantastic stuff to share in your quest for a ’space for the soul.’ First up is this shell-backed boudoir chair from Christopher Guy. Finished with gold, and with a linen/ cotton mix seat cover, it would look gorgeous anywhere from a small holiday apartment in the South of France to a study in wet and windly England, as a breautiful reminder of that getaway you have been meaning to take for years…

Charlie Whimney’s oak light at 100% Design 2009 at Earl’s Court. Made from spiralled, shaved oak it is one of many beautiful creations by Charlie. I love it for it’s elegant modesty.

Andrew Martin

On a sourcing expedition last week I stumbled across the absolute gem that is ‘Andrew Martin’ on Walton Street (just around the corner from Aubaine on the Fulham Road). It’s like stepping into a Hollywood film set, a far-flung tropical destination and an antiques warehouse all at once. It has to be seen to be believed, but until you manage to make the trip here are some pictures I took to whet your design appetite….

Spotted: this window installation in ‘Pringle‘ on Sloane Street, London, on my new, and already much loved, walk home from KLC every evening. Nothing like being forceful in a recession, love it…

My first sketches

Ok, so maybe not as interesting as my last post (or as talented… yet!) but thought I would share some of my very first sketches from today’s studio session…
